Description

This project, financed by the World Bank, was carried out by Impulso in a joint venture with Thomas Chase, a local company. Impulso provided key personnel for the site management team, including the Technical Office Manager. In addition, as an added value, Impulso sent PE pipe welding specialists with extensive experience in gas pipeline installations. The main works carried out in the different zones were as follows:
Zones 1A and 1B:
– Extension of the Distribution Network in Zone 1A and Zone 1B of the municipality of Ado Ekiti using HDPE pipes and fittings, diameters from 63 mm to 280 mm, total length of approximately 180 km, including river/stream crossings and road crossings.
– Installation of DI gate and butterfly valves (31 units), diameter from 50 mm to 300 mm (49 units), PE ball valves diameter from 60 mm to 150 mm (330 units), network drain valves, air valves, and hydrants.
– Installation of 18 industrial water meters and flow meters, with diameters ranging from 60 mm to 300 mm.
– Installation of 80 mm diameter hydrants (11 units) and pressure reducing valves (9 units).
– Installation of domestic water meters on PE pipes, including fittings (2,670 units).
– Ductile Iron water network, diameter 100 to 300 mm (7 km).
Zones 1C and 2:
– Rehabilitation of defective pipes, fittings, and valves in the existing distribution network, approximate length of 26,150 m, including the replacement of the existing fibre cement pipes, which had multiple leaks, with new PVC pipe and reinstallation of service connections.
– Extension of the distribution network in Zone 1C and Zone 2 of the municipality of Ado Ekiti using HDPE pipes and fittings, diameter from 63 mm to 280 mm, total length of approximately 80 km, including river/stream crossings and road crossings.
– Installation of DI gate and butterfly valves from 50 mm to 300 mm in diameter (49 units), PE ball valves from 60 mm to 150 mm in diameter (200 units), network drain valves, air valves, and hydrants.
– Installation of industrial water meters and flow meters with diameters ranging from 60 mm to 300 mm (17 units)
– Installation of 80 mm diameter hydrants (22 units) and pressure reducing valves (8 units).
– Installation of domestic service connections and PE fittings for future connection of domestic meters (1,330 units).
– Ductile Iron water network, diameter 100 to 300 mm (4 km).
