Planta de refabricación de maquinaria y oficinas en León
Description
As part of the project’s objective to promote the transition toward a circular economy in industrial and logistics machinery, a former ceramics factory in Villacé (León) has been rehabilitated to be converted into a machinery remanufacturing plant and offices.
The factory is located in an area affected by depopulation, suffering the consequences of rural flight in Spain. The project maintains the building’s original volume, dividing it into three areas: common services, the remanufacturing plant, and the regional office. The intervention preserves and restores the existing facade, combining traditional architectural techniques with modern materials such as sandwich panels, aluminum and glass carpentry, and corrugated sheeting at strategic points.
In addition to the adaptations to the existing building, work was carried out on a rear covered area, the existing esplanade was improved, and areas dedicated to technical installations were incorporated.
